The Vision of 'Spencer' (2012)

The Vision of 'Spencer' is an account of one mans's near-death experiences and subsequent visions of the days leading up the the millennium.  The book was co-authored and written by John Pontius, a well known published LDS author. If you have not had a chance to read the book I highly recommend it.

Because of his poor health, Spencer has many near death experiences, during which time he is shown a vision of the great tribulation that will occur very shortly.

A summary of the Great Tribulation that he saw:

  • Finances of the world collapse. Money becomes worthless
  • Utilities in chaos.  Power off for months
  • Civil unrest and roving gangs commit heinous atrocities in the US
  • A devastating earthquake that strikes the Utah Wasatch Front
    • in the Fall of the year
    • This earthquake triggers massive inland flooding in Utah
  • Earthquakes and tsunamis from Alaska to South America
    • in the spring of the next year
    • California is completely destroyed
  • Another massive Earthquake hits the New Madrid Fault splitting the US in half
    • An inland tsunamis floods inland from the Gulf of Mexico to Chicago
    • Missouri is swept clean by this flood
  • Multiple waves of plagues begin to spread wiping out much of the nation
    • many of this diseases are intentional biological attacks
  • A nuclear bomb goes off in Utah.
  • Foreign troops infiltrate America.
  • The UN arrives in the guise of peacekeepers - but usurp authority in the government
  • Righteous will gather in Missouri and rebuild Zion
For a more detailed I encourage you to read his book.

  1. I have read this book 3 times. The first time I was awestruck by the detail that Spencer gives. There is so much in this book that one small comment cannot describe the impact of it. If I were to try!!! and say what I got from reading it, it would be that it brought me closer to Jesus Christ and clarified many prophetic scriptures found in the Bible, BOM and POGP. I cried reading it the first time. I read again to see if I felt the same again. I did. The third time because familiarity can ground your feelings. I still felt that what Spencer experienced was true for him and has enlightened me. Thank you Spencer, your sacrifices have strengthened me.

  2. Really?? By the time I finished this book all that I had thought to be incredible quickly became mystical and fictional. His description of the 144,000 and the lost tribes of Israel are NOT doctrinally sound. I wonder why the blog includes "Spencer's Vision" but not Julie Rowe's vision? She by far has the most detailed and doctrinally sound record of visions yet to come. I highly recommend her books and her blog julieroweprepare.com

    1. How do you figure that his description of the 144,000 and the lost tribes of Israel are not doctrinally sound?

Julie says: Due to the state of the world, prior to the 2nd coming of the Lord, the Church would no longer send missionaries to foreign lands.

I was shown that this would occur after a huge increase in missionary efforts and had occurred throughout the world, as a last and final attempt to help the Lord gather in His sheep and prepare the righteous for His coming. I was shown that later, 144,000 high priests, and in many cases, their wives, would again be called and set apart as special representatives of the Lord's Church, traveling to distant lands throughout the world..

    2. Yeah, we all know how Julie,"most doctrinally sound" turned out. Involvement with Chad Daybell, said she saw the children were "okay",she's now divorced, false "angel told me" imminent earthquake predictions, charges boo-coo bucks for energy healing (supposedly a gift from God, but sells it for profit),$$$ admittance convention meetings, excommunicated, have you seen her latest wow, just wow, profanity/enough to make a sailor blush rant on You Tube? Says she gets beat up by Satan almost every night. Yeah. Julie has changed so much it's scary! I don't blame the blog owner one bit for excluding controversial Julie Rowe.

  4. My recollection from reading this book was that California wasn't completely destroyed, but that part of it broke off from the mainland and became islands. Also, why no mention of the land mass that appears in the Gulf of Mexico?

  5. I also read the book. My take is that, about halfway through the book, the "voice" changed, and it began to sound like one of John Pontius' books. It immediately made me suspicious. Different people who claim to know "Spencer" however say that he stands by the content, if not necessarily the "voice."

  6. Years ago right after my mission I used to have these types of inspiration. Reading the book caused some things to become clear. The great earthquake that comes about 3 1/2 years after the global bankruptcy is described in Revelation 6:12 and etc. The solar blast which rocks the earth and other plants is the first infusion of the Holy Ghost which begins to lift the veil of darkness. Anyone who knows how to strive for the Spirit will suddenly how amazing success their gifts multiplied many fold. Doug

  7. Adding to my above post. The coming of Christ seen by Spencer was not the second coming to Jerusalem which occurs about 20 years later. It was Christ's coming for him, Spencer and the rest of the 5 wise virgins as shown in D&C 88:96 "And the saints that are upon the earth, who are alive, shall be quickened and be caught up to meet him." This occurs about 21 years after the Rev 6:12 earthquake that floods Utah with water and lava and that happens about 3 1/2 to 4 years after the global bankruptcy. The timing may change according to our needs.

  8. I want to share something which is similar to what Spencer said about the Urim and portals and which I saw were made from a specific crystal. April 1981. I was deeply pondering the Nag Hammadi Library when I had the following experience. "...a prompting within me said, 'There is a better way to know the truth.' Still striving for understanding I replied, 'How?" I've edited this but in a nut shell I was looking into a crystal and the voice inside of me said," Through this you can know all things past, present and future." I saw myself putting my fingers on top of a molten stone that was not hot and was told that was how it was tuned to each person according to their spiritual needs. I felt myself feeling into it, seeing the things I wanted to know while a tremendous living power flowed forth from it.
I saw myself finding my crystal. I immediately recognizing it and my heart leapt for joy. Instantly the crystal responded with a faint light and a voice declared that "unless one hundred thousand righteous persons used this crystal to stem the present corruption, we would be destroyed in the days to come."
This is very close to Spencer's description of the very personal nature of the Urim ie seer stone. He went so far as to say that its spiritual particles were with us in the spirit world before we were mortally born. In case anyone is wondering no I don't have one. As it turns out they are useless without God's power and God won't power yours until you can pass through the veil. As shown in the temple or in other words endure Celestial glory.

  9. Some time after the above experiences I was told had the impression that "until one like unto Enoch stood up in the flesh" I could not have a seer stone ie the crystal I was shown. I've waited for decades and no one like Enoch. I suppose that means as these visions show that we as a country are toast.

  10. Spencer is correct about languages. On my mission my companion and I were invited into a home. It was a door knock not different from hundreds of others but as we talked a bright burning appeared in the corner of the room. I knew immediately that it was an angel, though I couldn't see it and would have looked right at it an said something had I been alone. But in that situation it was inappropriate. So I continued talking to our host and as I did, I could feel his thoughts and knew exactly what he actually wanted to know. Instead of answering his questions I addressed his true concerns. Presently the burning stopped and we left. With it went my ability to feel thoughts. But it taught me how language works. God has given us universal feelings that we put into words. But those feelings speak for themselves. So it is that through the Spirit there is no language barrier. We were all created by the same God and so we communicate the same feelings.
